    just a handful of ball bearings

    Somehow I wanted to imagine this was more than just a handful of ball bearings...nope!

    After cleaning the decanter, the ball bearings have to be dried out for storage - good luck with that (they go everywhere).

    Works as advertised in decanter context

    As long as your decanter has a flat bottom, the beads work great when swirled horizontally. If you try the beads on a decanter with a curved bottom or with large red wine glasses, the beads do not work as well due to gravity dropping the beads off the curved surfaces back down to the bottom before any cleaning can occur. Extended high velocity swirling with curved surfaces does not result in desired cleaning.
